Hampshire County Council-supported service ‘Conference Hampshire' is celebrating half a decade of encouraging businesses to explore the variety of conference venues on offer in the county.

Hampshire County Council set up ‘Conference Hampshire' to serve both venues and businesses by promoting the county as the perfect place to do business. During the past five years, ‘Conference Hampshire' has received nearly 600 enquiries for meetings and events involving over 41,000 delegates.

Leader of the County Council, Cllr Ken Thornber, said: “Conference Hampshire reflects the County Council's ongoing commitment to leading the development of a strong and sustainable economy, supporting Hampshire businesses and encouraging investment from outside the county.

“I would like to congratulate the ‘Conference Hampshire' team on five years of excellent service and their ongoing dedication to ensuring the county is placed firmly on the business map.”

‘Conference Hampshire' offers a free venue-finding service for businesses, offering both vibrant city and peaceful rural locations, all benefiting from the county's excellent road, rail, sea and air links. It can also offer large companies a free tailor-made service, handling all the organisation's meeting and conference arrangements for events of any size.

The ‘Conference Hampshire' team can quickly locate and match the most suitable facility based upon clients' individual needs; from just one meeting room, to a product launch venue or the management and delivery of a major international conference.

Within the extensive database of Hampshire venues, there are many outstanding locations including stately homes, castles, country houses and dedicated conference centres, as well as other special locations full of character and interest.

Simon Richards, Managing Partner of Convenus, the company that operates Conference Hampshire in association with the County Council, said: “Conference Hampshire has grown from strength to strength. Having just registered the 250th venue and now considered to be the foremost service of its kind in the area, Conference Hampshire can look forward to a long and successful future.

“Essential to this success is the firm belief in placing enquiries at venues most suitable for the clients needs using a bespoke data management system and first hand knowledge and experience of an established and professional team. However, the feature most appreciated by potential bookers is the personal service provided and not just an online enquiry form.”
