Hampshire Towns

Hampshire is home to large urban conurbations and small market towns, not to mention two national parks. Our expert knowledge of this diverse county means that we can help you devise an event which exceeds your expectations. We have listed a few of the more popular destinations below, but for more information, please see Visit Hampshire

Winchester
Winchester combines the best of city life with the freshness of the surrounding countryside. An unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the rolling South Downs, Winchester is England's ancient capital and the former seat of King Alfred the Great.

Popular for its bustling shopping streets, its quirky open air events, and it’s many bars, pubs and restaurants, Winchester is most well known for its eleventh century Cathedral and for the Great Hall which for over 700 years has housed the mysterious Round Table.

Basingstoke
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, and with excellent transport links, Basingstoke also has a heritage dating back to Roman times. With one of the South’s premier shopping centres and one of the region’s largest theatres, the town is also well served for entertainments.

Southampton
The historic maritime city of Southampton is endowed with a diverse nightlife, exciting shopping, varied leisure facilities, superb art and heritage attractions, a lively events programme, including the world famous Boat Show and of course the excitement and charm of a bustling waterfront location. Growing in popularity as a cruise destination, the city is also the gateway to the Isle of Wight.

Portsmouth
With an unparalleled maritime military history, Portsmouth is a fascinating city to visit. In contrast to the historic ships and museums, Portsmouth has a cosmopolitan waterfront containing excellent shopping and a wide range of eateries, not to mention the Spinnaker Tower, an architectural wonder. In addition, Portsmouth also offers ferry services to the Isle of Wight, France and Spain.

Romsey
The ancient and prosperous market town of Romsey sits on the banks of the River Test, one of the finest trout and salmon rivers in Europe. Medieval streets cluster around the magnificent Norman Abbey which dominates the town and plays host to an extensive musical programme each year. Relax in one of many quality restaurants and soak up the historic atmosphere.

Farnborough
The town of Farnborough in north Hampshire is probably best known for its biennial international airshow which attracts hundreds of companies and thousands of visitors. With a business airport and enviable location close to the capital, but with lower costs and far less congestion, Farnborough is excellently placed to cater for international events.
